History

Since 1952 an organization for repairs and customer order production of medical equipment was established in Slovakia as a part of Závody liečební mechaniky n.p. Praha (Medical Mechanics Plant, national enterprise, Prague) established in 1947. In 1949 it received the name Chirana Praha and the era of the development of medical technical equipment in Piešťany started. Paralelly in these post-war times the machine works “Považské strojárne” in Stará Turá converted their armaments production to the more promising medical and measurement equipment. Already in 1960 the central administration of the former Czechoslovak Republic joined these two independent and even competitive activities into joined coordinated productions of technical medical equipment of European significance, to a concern known as Chirana.

The new political orientation of Czechoslovakia removed the centralistic management in 1990 and since 1997 Chirana-Dental, s.r.o. Piešťany is a legal subject continuing this whole history from 1952. We appreciate having this history because we have obtained the whole production programme of Chirana Praha for the new plant in Piešťany and also we have common history within the concern Chirana, which was a very dynamic entity with its own research institute, specialized departments for foreign trade, deliveries of investments and international cooperation.

From 1997 Chirana-Dental, s.r.o. made corrections in the sphere of concentration of development capacities only to dental equipment and supporting of commercial and servicing activities. The capital facilities as well as complexness of services provided by Chirana-Dental, s.r.o. as the world producer of dental equipment represented by the mark Diplomat improved.
